Sophie Jemtrud—
UX/UI Designer.

About me

I have eight years of experience across various design domains including digital, UX/UI, graphic, web, and print design. I am an award-winning, versatile designer who thrives on creativity while adhering to brand guidelines. I am passionate about exploring new creative avenues and techniques, all while keeping a strong focus on user stories and empathizing with users' needs. Most recently, I’ve integrated AI tools into my design workflow after completing a class with NNGroup, further enhancing my ability to create innovative, user-centered solutions.

AI-Powered Learning Platform

2023-2025

I designed the UX and UI for an AI-powered language learning platform built for educators and students. The platform helps teachers generate customized lesson plans based on professional fields and enables students to practice and reinforce language skills through interactive, adaptive tools. Alongside building a cohesive visual identity, my focus was on creating an intuitive, human-centered experience that made advanced AI capabilities feel simple, supportive, and trustworthy for both user groups.

I enhanced Discover’s credit card and debit landing pages by refining existing layouts and modules already coded by developers. My role focused on elevating the visual design—improving hierarchy, selecting engaging imagery, and polishing details to make the pages more visually appealing and user-friendly. These updates gave the pages a refreshed look while staying true to the brand’s identity and ensuring a cohesive, modern experience for users.
I art directed, designed, and produced this winning 2025 GDUSA In-House Design Award. This campaign showcased Discover’s 99% nationwide acceptance with bold placements at the Big Ten Football Championship, including the iconic Indianapolis Artsgarden. The creative message, “No matter which jersey you’re wearing,” celebrated fan pride while driving strong brand visibility.
I worked on the UI for Unique Appliances’ e-commerce website, focusing on improving usability and product discoverability. I designed hover interactions on the hero image that allow users to explore and click on appliances, and created custom “Electric,” “Solar,” and “Propane” icons and product tags to help users quickly identify each product type.
I worked on the UI for the Camping Québec website, focusing on helping users easily find campgrounds and nature activities across different regions of the province. The design emphasizes clear navigation, regional discovery, and an intuitive search experience, allowing users to explore destinations, view amenities, and plan their stays with ease.
I led the UX and UI design for a full website redesign focused on attracting new job applicants through an engaging and intuitive experience. The design prioritized clear navigation, simplified application flows, and strong calls-to-action to drive recruitment, while reinforcing the company’s credibility as a trusted leader in wood manufacturing.
